A member of the SynergyOne Business Development Team carried out a full in-depth analysis of the client's outlets across London to see where he could rationalise some BT service charges and in turn offer a better overall solution.
The client made a few calls between outlets but mainly to and from the Head Office.
The owner of the business was naturally keen to improve costs, but needed a product that could move with him as he often spent time abroad on buying trips or in his outlets working with his staff.
The analysis carried out found that historically each outlet had two analogue telephone numbers on their main number, a fax line, a broadband line and a rather slow 20;1 contended Broadband service.
SynergyOne were able to delete the BT service charges on the two main telephone lines by porting the BT telephone numbers to the Feature Plus IP service.
The fax line was migrated over to SynergyOne's Openreach and BT Wholesale partner agreements which helped save 10% on the line rental costs.
SynergyOne connected superfast ADSL MAX800 Broadband onto the fax line which in turn meant that the customer was able to save considerable BT rental fees by cancelling his slow, soon to be phased out, 20:1 contended ADSL service and the BT line that was associated with the Broadband.
SynergyOne utilised the new ADSL MAX800 Broadband service to supply three extensions of Feature Plus in each outlet so that calls could be transferred around the premises and if the staff were busy serving customers the in-built voicemail took the calls. During quieter periods of the day the outlet manager was able to look at the web based call statistics and call back any callers that had not left a voicemail message from the "missed calls" screen - much like you get on a mobile.
The sites were able to use their PC's for ordering via the ADSL MAX800 product, even when they were on the telephone on a call as the Cisco Linksys Adapter enables voice calls to be prioritised over data traffic.
The owner of the business used his own Cisco Linksys Adapter when he went on buying trips to the Far East. By connecting it to the hotel Broadband he was able to dial back to all of his sites completely free of charge.
The web based portal also enabled him to clearly see if the shop assistants were using the phone for personal calls during working hours, if they were calling back clients and to hear and subsequently email any voicemail messages back to his office.
Most importantly, during a power cut, he was able to divert all calls through to one of the other outlets whilst repair men worked on bring back power.
By porting his BT telephone numbers to Feature Plus, when the leases on two of his outlets came up for renewal he was able to move premises and still retain the same telephone numbers.
